Why couldn't he have each defeated Zone also give him 10,000 War Souls? That should be beyond easy for them to accomplish given each Zone had as you said hundreds of thousands of Commanders. Heck each Zone could probably relinquish 1,000,000 war souls pretty easily - netting him 3billion.

is Shang Liu trying to manipulate Wei Wuyin? Distorting things to create a fait accompli? If WW saves her then he'll be tied to Shang Liu and help him out with becoming a Sage... but does Wanqing really want that? What if she doesn't? I think WW knows this but is going to interfere anyway, both because this is the perfect excuse to do so, also to test the Blessed and possibly exploit him, but also to reframe the narrative and display his power to those watching.

Weren't World Emperors given 80,000 years of lifespan? Rune Kings already had 30,000 years right?
