MC is shou in the story but technically either in preference. The story is great in that it avoids all the usual stereotypes about personality behavior etc for shou and gong: sometimes you get a shy introvert gong and sometimes you get overbearing president shou :)

i used to have a job where i got up at 4.30am with an hour commute so i feel you. it drags ass at the beginning but you get used to it and dont feel tired after awhile. two points of advice: still set your alarm to get up at five on your days off just until you get used to it, it will drastically increase how quickly you adapt and you can just lay in bed/read etc. but dont go back to sleep! also find a breakfast food you can eat with no prep like protein bars or poptarts or fruit etc. i normally dont eat breakfast but i found getting up that early i had to or my brain didnt function and i wouldnt wake up. also i would get insanely hungry at like seven or eight and working through that sucked. love the story and good luck *****ing with us :) early jobs are actually great once you get used to them since you still have a lot of free daytime after your shift. i loved getting off at 2pm and still having the day ahead of me.
