Yes, but his thirst for knowledge spurs from the enjoyment of gaining the knowledge through research and effort. It spurs from experimentation and the acquiring of knowledge, which is what he enjoys the most. Although he does enjoy knowledge itself quite a lot, he enjoys the process of gaining it even more. Which is exactly why he limits his omniscience and discovers things on his own, as he has the infinite resources to do so.
