"di" in chinese always translates to Emperor just like "Huang di-Yellow Emperor" or "Tian Di" for heavenly Emperor.Though in english translation doudi is translated as dou god, mostly in mtl,it is translated as dou emperor.

you just haven't read mtl enough,in mtl or google translate they always translate doudi as dou emperor or fighting emperor.
