Another possibility is that the lineages aren't what we thought, but more like reincarnations. There is a lot linking Sunny to be similar to Weaver at this point.
I'm curious if this will lead to Sunny having his own group. Nephis has the firekeepers from saving the people from the Forgotten Shore, it's possible that all the lives (mostly talking about awakened, Sleepers, etc) will maybe not dedicate themselves to him, but may act as his own force. They clearly know how difficult it was for him, and that it would have been far easier for him to just do his own thing, but instead he tried his hardest to protect these people. over and over again Sunny fought hard to protect them. I feel like this could be a new force.
I love these chapters, Granin and Torrina working hard to help Anthony. I felt off on two things though, one Anthony felt a little distant from them which was sad. Two, he explained what he has done with his legs and they didn't say anything about it!? That caught me by surprise. Still, fantastic chapters, and I'm hoping to see the effects in the next few chapters!
oooh, good call. I didn't think about that!
I love the story, so thank you Guilty. I am perplexed by Sunny's relationship with his sister. He's expecting something big to change with the ball, she's turning sixteen the age for the spell to hit, so she might die, and he doesn't tell her who he is? That's strange. I know he doesn't plan to involve himself in her life, but if she contracts the spell while he's gone and dies in it, I think he would regret it, probably for the rest of his life. I guess I would have liked him to address that a bit more is all.
This was a great twist! completely unexpected , complicates the situation for sunny, -chef's kiss- this wasn't just great writing, but truly amazing writing. you had written a great narrative with Cassie and sunny having to do mental battle with clan Valor , but this twist changes everything.
This chapter still seems weird to me. Riley isn't able to bully the themarians like he's used to, so it feels weird. I'm still waiting for a classic Riley "gotcha" moment where he actually has been the strongest. Maybe it won't happen in this arc, as these are the strongest (ish) beings in the universe, but I keep waiting for the shoe to drop
while I kind of agree, I also kind of get it. Esme seems to be feared amongst the other themarians as someone stupidly strong. No one really interacts with her, here comes Riley who doesn't care about her status, doesn't fear her, and brings about constantly interesting situations for her. I don't think she is as much on his side as he has brought some energy to her life. She did say that they may end up fighting if he tries to end all life so there's that too
This was an excellent chapter to deepen the rabbit hole of the world. We knew about the Sovereigns, but now we are gaining a much more in depth look at how this world actually works. It is a refreshing piece of world building even if dark and ominous, and well written too. great chapter
