I am starting realise a lot of the Guardians that were refugees from other worlds are fairly broken people looking for meaning, purpose and probably most importantly love. It's a thought that should be self evident seeing as these people all survived their own world's Apocalypse by the skin of their teeth. However, reading the condensed tale of Ava and Cat boy's stories, it just puts into perspective how much despair this universe is wading through in general. We are just seeing the happier go lucky side of it because of Qing until now.
