I think you've made a bit of an error with your calculations; 100 square metres is just 10m x 10m, which means his training area of 20m in diameter is actually twice the size of his entire area (well, not quite because it's a circle, but you get my meaning). I believe what you meant was a 100m x 100m area, which is actually 10,000 square metres.

To me it Doesn’t invoke the idea of parting water. although I found the other name to be a little weird too, atleast it made a bit of a connection with parting water: “shall pass” to me sounded like a play on the word pass, for example how a mountain pass is a path through a mountain range. TL:DR I liked the original one better.
