The healing spells they have access to at the academy are pretty powerful. Cypher really hurt Alex badly but thanks to the quick intervention of the combat teacher and the hard work of the nurses behind the scenes Alex will be fine. Of course he'll still have to go through weeks of recovery though.

you have a good point when I started writing this I was still new to being an author. Ive learned a lot these past few months and yeah thats something that has stood out to me since I realized it. Ive been meaning to go back and adjust his reaction so thanks for reminding me and thanks for your feedback. ill be sure to credit you in the Authors note for reminding me to adjust this.

It's okay to have an opinion and you're entitled to yours. But I feel like you're being very hypercritical of this story. I don't know how far you read, but if you read decently far, you'd see that you've completely missed the mark. The story is quite interesting and very engaging. Plot armor is almost non-existent and the power system is easy enough to understand while still having an air of mystery to it where it concerns the higher levels.
