Bullets to the head don't mean death, in most cases, yes, it does, but not all. The human body is made resilient, enough to be cut in half and survive. That and medical tech is really advanced. The thing most likely to kill him would be infection, in this case.

My point is that if the blood circulated the entire body, then it would flow through all the veins. Though I still didn't know the speed.
