He made sure certain meetings happened, certain couples break up, certain perpetrators stay unpunished. He ruined so many lives, mother. All because he wants to separate the magical community."

I don't mind a slow pace, but when the chapters are both slow paced and short, it becomes a bit draining to read. I think that's what the guy was feeling, and I feel the same way. It keeps breaking the momentum whenever I have to switch to the next chapter. The thing is, slow paced stories usually have longer chapters to help maintain immersion.
