and that is the end of the book. i really enjoyed it, it was the first ever novel/book that i have completed. surpisingly, i enjoyed every chapter of the novel. the author was very consistent in updating and would update bonus chapters sometimes. even though this is the end, i do wish there would be some bonus chapters of xueyue and yuzhen maybe having kids or hu dengxiao and lu tianbi’s marriage, as well as meeting xueyue’s family again (although that might be impossible since she has become empress). you can find me re-reading this next year or so :) thank you, xincerely from the bottom of my heart.

writing another review after 3 months. i feel that xue yue and yu zhen lack understanding towards each other, i feel like yu zhen forces xue yue over the extent sometimes but i know that it is merely out of love. at this point i can't help but think if yu zhen is going to start being like wen jinkai who is overly possessive and unreasonable. but aside from that, i really like this novel, it doesn't really have a harem but its interesting. i just wish that in the later on in the novel, xue yue and yu zhen would be more understanding towards each other and start trusting more
