I know this is off topic but I think adding the kid this early on in your story was dumb since you have some much other things you could do. Personally I think the kids come along after you have a hard time of adding any other plot. I have thought of alternatives like having nature killing the kid off so Mc has a long goal to get and sets his ego down but this is just my thoughts. I like the story so far through
