Killing someone on accident because you almost died is different from killing people on purpose.
Arthur ducked under a wild punch, grabbing the attacker by the collar and slamming him into another guard. He exhaled sharply, shaking out his hand. He was holding back deliberately so. If he used his full strength, these men would be broken beyond repair. He wasn't sure why he cared, but something about how easily he could kill them made his skin crawl.

Whatever his origin may be, and whatever he truly was was of little importance to Jake because it is actions that told more than words, and anything really, they told more than any origin, culture, belief, skin color, sexuality… Or even species. That much he could tell with his experience.
