Sorry about the wait. A couple stories I’ve loved have been dropped before they reach a satisfactory endpoint, and I want to eventually get there with this one. I understand if that claim isn’t super trustworthy, but I already have the story in my head, so it’s really only a matter of if and when.

It would make sense, but the narration (the way I'm writing it) is sort of an extension of Alfred, at least when it's more focused on him. Basically, he feels like a dude still. You'll see the narration change as his opinions/feelings change (as long as everything goes to plan).

You'll see. Just remember that 1) claymores aren't as slow as you would think and 2) the martial arts can make things work in strange ways. It's mainly for the reach, if you want a specific reason.
