I think she means that seeing no teamwork within a team will bring your score down as this is a college for people who want to fight within more challenging dungeons, so an irresponsible choice in team with no effort on your part to cooperate is bad for these life-or-death missions. If you know that you can't cooperate, you have to either change the way you are or become strong enough to go solo because otherwise, you're just risking the lives of your teammates.

I would assume that after leveling the skill for a bit, it would be able to target more people thus becoming an aoe skill

This at least makes sense, the requirements for getting this grade is to clear this while starting at level 1 and not using any damaging skills against wolves that gang up on you and spam skills to kill you.
