They did the training by working with the gate keepers and they had to walk around with heavy weights plus I don't think Gon and Killua are your average 7 years old and Gon was 11 at that time XD

I said in chapter 2 how killua and Gon are stronger than him especially Killua as he was trained by his family from a young age
