I did not think it was a nether portal, but the story compared the "Demon door" to the nether portal in looks. With the swirlly effects and everything so it's confusing.

My thought is that it's good. There are some confusing word choices and missing names, like Demon door for Nether portal. If the names were fixed and the Chinese idioms were scrubbed out, this would be better, but not the first story like this I have seen. This could be a great story if fixed up.
