I have a couple of concerns about some things you said. if you are going to focus on Halo as a whole, then I would recommend writing it in a way so that the Mc can react to it, or have Mc Contribute in a way that would seem organic, if that makes sense. I think the reason the story feels bland to you is because there are no stakes involved. like whatever the Mc did had no consequences what so ever. for example, because he dominates in so many exercises, he actually lowers the morale of others, which could cause there to be fewer survivors from their augmentations. the Mc is AU. You can also create original enemies because of what your MC did in the story. this is not to destroy your creative freedom, but I genuinely believe you can make something special.

I think if you are going to do a rewrite, then you will have to plan out arc by arc. like what would be the MC's objective, his fatal flaws, how he overcomes that flaw either by the end of the story or by the end of the arc. what would be the obstacles that are in his way. and also I can not stress this enough. do some research about how the MC would really react in those situations. like, for example, if someone got thrown out of their family, they would obviously have abandonment issues, etc, etc. also, does the MC need to have special treatment from other characters. these are just some things I wanted to say, so don't take it as I hate the fic, I like it. It just needs some planning involved
