He was also kind of worried about Scott's disappearance. It was less about his disappearance but more about how it would affect the canon. that would mean a 'weaker' version of himself would've had to start the cycle, but who gave him the universe traveling? While there are ways of getting it, at that point he would basically be an all powerful God so why would he need to go back in time and change himself?
