It's probably supposed to be something like Revered, honestly a small typo if true. Revered and Reverend are only a letter apart and Revered would make sense.

Removing the air with magic in theory would be better. Something along the lines of a bubble head charm from HP, except as a void. Maybe "space magic" called Void Bubble? Asphyxiation would be clean, lethal, and keep it intact after all.

In interest of fairness I'll point out, time might not be parallel. For example let's say it's a 5:1 ratio, that would mean 500 years there was only 100 here. The mc might be assuming it was parallel while it's not.
