This breaks first person because he shouldn't know what happened and there fore not know he doesn't remember. At best this should be in a flashback later down the line.

actually in most places in the US you can 16 and own a motorcycle in Texas for instance there's no actual law to limit when you can buy a motorcycle and only a few States actually require you to be 18 to purchase a motorcycle while a few handful of States even allow you to purchase it at the age of 15.
