Okay. So, after I reviewed this chapter I went back and made a search throughout the entire manuscript. And yup. ZaiWin had never said thank to Snow. Not even once! Not that I could find anyway. He is imensely grateful for his existence and so on, but the words never actually leave his thoughts 😔 Damn, boy! Things like that MUST be said out loud! *sighs* 😔

Snow lowered his head again. He knew that. He had tried to do so on other occasions, but it had never worked. It had been a silly suggestion, he knew. ZaiWin's energy was too different from his, his energy reservoir too big. Snow would probably die from exhaustion and still be unable to replenish it. It's just that … he really wished he could help him feel better. And he hated knowing that he was weak and vulnerable.

Will Snow ever remember it?
A disturbing sense of familiarity washed over him. It was as if he'd been in that place before. Better yet, as if he had gone back in time and was reliving the same situation again. But by then he too was feeling too tired to reflect about such things. And so, feeling warm and comfortable, Snow simply allowed himself to fall asleep.

It will be interesting to see Snow protecting ZaiWin. Seems like the tables had turned.
"We're safe! You're safe! I'm here! No one will find you!" Snow declared with absolute certainty, although he couldn't tell where he'd managed to gather such unwavering confidence, and the thin slits of blue that were ZaiWin's eyes fixed on him.

FeiWan gritted his teeth trying to restrain the sudden wave of annoyance that washed over him. He couldn't, didn't want to even consider the possibility that GinWan might be successful in his mission. But, worse than that, what really annoyed him was the knowledge that, apparently, he wasn't the reason why CalRimRan had decided to go against his people's decision, and chosen to stay behind. And there he was. Worrying that he might be unwell, inviting him in to his home, when all he cared for was some stupid child!

Did he choose to stay or it was decided for him? I can’t stop myself of wondering. Or his choice to stay has cost him something... Severe a link with his people ? Took a toll on his health ? 🤔
CalRimRan seemed to relax a bit with his sudden change of subject and lowered his gaze.

And yet, even though FeiWan couldn't help feeling suspicious about the true reasons behind CalRimRan's presence, another, much deeper part of him was actually relieved that he had stayed. That they hadn't parted ways with the echo of his harsh words still ringing in both their ears. That he had been granted a chance to try and fix things between them. He didn't know why. But, somehow, even though he had said all that the last time they'd met, the truth was that he didn't want CalRimRan to remain angry at him.
