Story hasn't had time to develop, translation isn't good but it's not mtl like the others. Characters' appearances are mostly ignored outside of combat, the world is interestings there's plot being laid out. Though it plays into a lot of troupes if your looking for turn your brain off monkeyness this is legit very good. Just ignore the small details the author ignored and you'll have a fine time. I just can't in good faith want to read this, I like consistent characters, if someone fears death, better make it impactful if they are ready to sacrifice themselves. If a guy kills people for no reason, I'd expect him to not have morals. Maybe not insane but minimally a uncaring person. But then in most novels here, it's two dimensional characters that has a goal and morals that will never bend nor change. This probably will get good at 120 ish to being bad at mediocre.

A trope I see often in Chinese novels is complete and utter fearlessness and it paying off. I understand one needs to take risks to grow and expand but there's a limit. Ignoring your situation and literally going hunting with a friend instead of using your troops enlarge your army, grow your town and try to improve the chances of you staying alive. Instead he goes hunting for good wood with a friend. As if he didn't have the super tree he hunted.

Bad writing but I can understand the author needed to make him seem at least human level intelligent.

Where's this man's confidence coming from, he's almost died like 5 times already. Why isn't he scared out of his mind. Also power leap wasn't big enough, level 1 to level 5 is like a dog vs a lion. Now level 5 to level 15 its a lion to a elephant 3 times normal size. Idk if this author actually thought about threat or just rounded to a nice number. Probably rounded as it's literally the biggest crutch for any power fantasy/shonen/battle manhwa, manga, webnovel, light novel.

Either a scheme is happening here preventing demons from being here, or the author is forgot that demons is everywhere in this forest. Depending on how good the author's memory this is a plot point or a plot hole.

When a demon killed your soldiers it's very understandable for someone to be mad, less so to not be scared when he's down on forces in a unfamiliar environment with limited resources. He's dumb even for xianxia novel standards.
