We all can gradually or instantly lose our nervousness. When the unknown or threat has shown itself as something that would not immediately hurt or scar us, we relax and gain courage. Just like when I have to put solid ingredients at a frying oil, as I gradually get the hang of carefully placing the solids and letting my hand get used to the heat and occasional splash, I started to not care that much for the oil... Or I am just rambling, and there is something lost in the translation lol
