The way I understood it was that both Lifeforce and Vitality aren't directly chakra related, as in they existed prior to chakras introduction to the naruto world by the Chakra fruit, they are components of life that while not sourced from chakra can be affected by it under very rare and specific conditions.

My only counter point is that one Rediculous power that deals damage based on the amount of money you shoot at your opponent, or buffs you based on power consumed, theirs a bunch but I've yet to read a book where someone brings the full power of capitalism to bear for that.

Read the wiki it explicitly states the reason the Kaguya clan was so feared was because even after they ran out of chakra they could still freely use their Kekkei Genkai to wreck shop.

His Kekkei Genkai doesn't use chakra that's one of the reasons it's so busted

and is apparently immortal.
