I can see possibility of Lumian underestimating K here. Even if connection was severed, he could have researched the events just based on powerhouses acting there and suspect something more going on.
He spoke the truth, albeit blurring the sequence of events, time, and location, as well as omitting a few details. The logic remained intact. Mr. K harbored no suspicions after hearing the account; instead, he sighed and cautioned Lumian not to overly rely on the finger since there were multiple ways to sever the mystical connection between him and it. - Nikkinen_Niklas10mthCommented
If this is just left with Jenna getting to be free without serious consequence or cost, it will be my first serious disappointment with this book.

However, he immediately recited a Heart-Cleansing Curse silently to calm himself down. He had not gotten the herb yet and thus could not afford to celebrate too early.
