i believe it refers to elemental grade i.e.: pink, orange, purple, blue, violet, cyan, red, yellow, emerald, black/white. grade nine would be emerald. so its not out of smoke per se, just referencing it differently

just so im understanding correctly here, rank 1-3 = early stage, rank 4-6 = mid stage, rank 7-9 = late stage, right? so would that mean peak rank is basically a rank 9.5 or 10, before ascending to the next plane? or have i missed something?
