Finally. Someone’s going to do something responsible! I was beginning to think that they’d always be a bunch of catty middle-school girls gossiping about this that and the third without doing the responsible thing. The fact that Meifeng allowed Yuan’s adoptive parents to ignore this aspect of his “education” and not teach Meixiu to rectify it at some point in the future tells me a lot too. Meixiu was trained to be his personal maid (and maybe wife? I don’t remember if that was the case) and caretaker. Shouldn’t caring for him also include educating him in important matters that he might not be aware of, lest he be taken advantage of?

This reminds me of the Michael Jackson Conspiracy Theory about how he was given a Testosterone-blocking hormone while treating his acne before his puberty kicked in, which preserved his voice. Of course, the theory was debunked when his autopsy was done (RIP, King of Pop), but yeah, this definitely reminds me of that.

After all, she never thought he would need this kind of knowledge, and it would also be embarrassing for her to teach someone older than her these kinds of things.
