I assume it was the dead mana that was evolving the Mc corrupted/changed the runes on the blade.
[Rune Sword: Veren]: A enchanted sword that had modified death runes curved it in. The enchant inside the blade helps the user with their mana control slightly. While the once normal runes that used mana to repair the sword have changed to resemble death runes. Though the modification of the sword severally decreases the amount needed to repair the sword, but at the cost of consuming blood. The carver that named this sword, Veren would be dejected to see this once a gift for this friend. Being used by the undead and had their own runes modified. - Daniel_R2mthCommented

But even the Half-Dragon apparently gave them different tasks, such as one being the 'Head' of the operation and instructing the others on what to do exactly, while of course still doing work himself, and the others doing different tasks when it came to general 'brunt' work, and only the one that was far taller than Eisen was the one that had only learned how to lift stuff, and that increase in strength seemed to have drained its mental strength, as it was more like a robot now instead of an actual living creature. - Daniel_R4mthCommented

"It's something that comes naturally with time as long as you try even a little bit, but at some point, you'll hopefully be able to maneuver your workspace completely blind. Depending on how long it's been like this, their outermost layer may have been affected a bit, but not too much. Especially considering that they are Dragon Bones, even if they belong to an unhatched one."
