tl;dr: This novel is amazing and should be higher on the daily rankings. It is absolutely worth the read.Since covid and its isolation period ended, and I had to go back to being an adult who uses his time "productively," I have deleted the webnovel app about 10 times. The reason I keep redownloading the app is this novel.The fact that the Son of the Hero King is not number 1 on the rankings blows my mind. What started out as probably an exercise in mindless smut writing is turning into one of the greatest stories that has ever been on this app. The plot is fantastic and well thought out. This is amazing because this story was, again, not supposed to focus on an actual story. You can see the proof of this as the story starts getting exponentially richer by the end of volume 1 and the start of volume 2. The characters are well fleshed out, the main character actually uses his brain, and his growth is not at the expense of the plot/story.The world building is god-tier. Quite literally god-tier as the world of Son of Hero King is drenched in mythology mixed with fantasy. The author is pulling from more than just the standard greco-roman myths, so it's easy to tell that the author did his research. And even with how amazing all that is by itself, author-San (Hikaru_Genji) still skillfully and tastefully weaves in the r18 elements. And those "scenes" are always mature and stellar.The only complaint is that it takes a while for new chapters to drop. However, if I had to cut back on webnovel (reading in general) because there just wasn't enough time... I am willing to cut Genji some slack because I remember reading a comment he made where he stated that he would have to take a break because his finals for LAW SCHOOL were coming up. I can't even imagine how busy he is now.So yeah, this novel is much better than the webnovel rating tells you.
