The beast dont kill their children tho, thats the difference. the parents of those children are free to hunt even if they die hunting. To the beast its you go hunt or you starve. To Gernoff instead if you cant hunt or contribute = death. The beast rule, you still have atleast have a freedom to hunt for your food for children or anyone you want to feed but to Gernoff its not.

Remember that Abomination, Human and Beast are whole. They are one. The Human and Beast helps each other to suppress the Abomination so hurt the Human and it will affect the Beast.
His human and Beast side couldn't keep up with the Abomination and were slowly fading away.
