with proper instructions it can be as long as you're assigned to a singular type of job meaning that you only know that one thing you can probably be trained up in a lot of industries within two weeks I work in a machine shop it didn't go to school for it but I'm learning on the job constantly when I first started I could cut metal now I could probably make a relatively complex part on a manual middle do I know how to use the CNC no is that a whole another can of worms for me absolutely however even then on some of the older machines I'm now learning some of that code because I need to work with that machine so for someone to start and do something small such as I need to flip the switch when this happens absolutely or even learning how to read the dials right to notify someone when something's on right so yes and no
