When he goes to these world, you could have him hold back his strength to the point of matching his opponents if they interests him like let say Hayato(from History Strongest disciple Kenichi) and fighting them using there own martial arts to perfect his technique of there martial arts, or if they are annoying person(like Issei for example) he can just toy with them as such fights are fun if they aren't over done.
- Importantly, I'm still considering ways to keep the martial arts crossover world engaging for you. I'm leaning towards a Slice of Life approach to ensure the story flows smoothly. - ImNotFree8mthReplied to Jama1810

I personally think those that eat a devil fruit would no what it is but in Luffy's case he is an air head who didn't know he had a dad until Garp told him so when he ate the devil fruit making him stretch and Shanks told him he ate the Gum-Gum no Mi he believed it. Though this my personal idea on how Luffy always thought that he had the Gum-Gum no Mi which is probably wrong.
"Blehh" It tasted just as bad as the manga said it did, but he forced the bit down. The next thing that he knew he could feel a massive load of information coming from around him. It took him a few minutes to form a cohesive thought but there was no pain, probably due to his newly improved brain. He quickly started adapting to the new feeling as he felt everything in the air around him. He felt like he could see the entire room and the ventilation shaft without the need to open up his eyes. He was correct with his guess, he ate the Air-Air no mi. A logia which allowed you too become an Air-Air man.
