Unless the worlds already been in an apocalypse for a while and the mc appears after say like a collapse of society then I wouldn’t care about a government. But that’s just my personal opinion, I’m not good at world building or writing novels so don’t take anything I said to heart. Just here to read :)

If the worlds similar to earth at least have the government there to try and respond to the random appearance of monsters/apocalypse cuz most novels the apocalypse starts and the government just disappears
