I always wondered why MCs' never think something real till they see a dead body it always baffled me.

not psychopaths they already know that the world they are going to will be filled with killing so they adapt to it and was already mentally prepared. Like some naruto fanfics the MC wishes to be there and then they act like they not in a world were people life work is murder. Then when they have to kill someone they start being over dramatic even though they knew how that world was.
