Aren't tower shields like by default large relative to their wielder? What's a short tower shield? Is it like just a rectangular shield, and at that point isn't it just a pavise or other oblong shield?

This novel is pretty fun. Quick paced and amusing subversion of the tropes of rich evil villains. And just when it seems like it would become too rote other "protagonists" are introduced to complicate things. Be rich, be powerful, get women, but don't expect many chapters despite there being 1500 in the original language only 83 are translated.
