Honestly I don't see why everyone hates Beth so much. She actually cares for Maddie and hasn't done anything to hurt her- intentionally anyways. And the dress situation as well, she bought it with the money she made, I don't see what's wrong with that. As well as the fact that she walks in front of Maddie in some situations is also obviously because Maddie doesn't like social interactions and prefers a quiet life and Beth knows that. They have a realistic sibling relationship and Beth really does care for her.

I personally don't hate Beth. I probably will in the future but at the moment she just needs some humbling, she actually does care about Maddie in her own way. All she needs is to be brought down a few pegs.
