[How does that feel, Jim?] Anthony taunted. [Are you scared? Feeling helpless? Like a grub? Just wriggling on the ground, unable to protect yourself when the big bad golgari come? That must be terrible Jim. Awful! However will you cope? MUAHAHAHAHAAA!]

REND THE FLESH OF THE BROOD KILLER. MAY HE SUFFER FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE.

It was impossible for an ant to howl with mad laughter, yet somehow the small champion achieved it, her mandibles clacking with insane glee as her eyes burned like wildfire.

SUFFER FOR YOUR SINS WORM. YOU CANNOT ESCAPE THE WRATH OF THE COLONY. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL, FOR WE SHALL OFFER NOT MERCY; BUT PURE UNADULTERATED PAIN.

[Hook is attached!] Brilliant cackled. [Try to run, worm. I WILL FOLLOW YOU ANYWHERE!]

Yes. The more you try, the more you send. All of it shall be converted into strength for the Colony. Soon, those foolish lizards shall see that their efforts were all in vain. For it only reinforced their very enemies that they wished to defeat.

And now that they had redoubled their efforts in producing a termite war machine, they failed to realise they were not grinding down the ant resistance, but feeding it, strengthening it. Despite inflicting casualties, the ants who remained were growing in strength, and none faster than the specimen. There was trouble on the horizon.

You know, if those torpor enforcers were assassins instead, I shudder to think of the damage they could cause flitting around on a battlefield.

The ants who called out to me so cheerfully a moment ago hesitate in their stride at my mention of taking a break before they continue on their way. The fear of the torpor enforcers continues to apply even here during this desperate, ongoing battle. Tired soldiers are sloppy soldiers and sloppy soldiers get their own allies killed. Personally I'm thankful that they've continued to maintain a strict standard of rest amongst my siblings, even in these circumstances.

Another one into the fold. Soon, the influence of the Ants shall create classes that far surpasses the previous known classes of its kind. I cannot wait to see the day, when every kind of class will have the prefix ‘Ant’ to it.

[Have you heard of the Class Ant Lancer before?]

Wait. Hold on. Does that mean all her children are basically her, but not her at the same time?

[No,] he says firmly, [we are not. The Mother Tree did not wish to create a race of monsters, spawned using the means of the Dungeon, since then we would be as mistreated and maligned as she is. It took hundreds of years, and only after ascending to a very high tier was she able to achieve it, but she found another way. In effect, we bruan'chii each contain a portion of Mother's soul. Combined with the method she employs of growing extensions of herself, she was able to create an entirely new form of life, us, disconnected from the Dungeon.]

Calling it now, the Ancients are definitely this world’s version of Eldritch beings. So, safe to say that one day Anthony will earn the name of being the Ancient of Somnolence judging by how hellbent these ants are to ensuring others get their sleep.

"There are civilisations above who are yet to hear of the Colony, but they too will soon have those who are swayed by our ways. The teachings of the Great One will cover this planet eventually, it is simply a matter of time. When that happens, you will be ready. You will bear our burden and carry on our task amongst your people."

What you say makes sense. But that does beg the question, if people knew what entropy was, even if it was at a basic level. Then why do not many know of gravity? Another scientific concept. This means that either no one but Anthony has unlocked it yet to gain an understanding of it, or Gravity Magic is at an extremely high level that makes it nigh impossible for a human to gain it. Which makes sense considering that Gravity is one of the four fundamental forces of the universes. However, Entropy itself is a pretty abstract concept not that much greater than gravity itself. And that leads me to the burning questions: Where does Entropy Magic fall in the ranks of Magic? Are there other magic related to scientific concepts or are one of the fundamental forces of the universe. And if magic can affect and flagrantly violate such laws, how far can the magic system go?

Not only do I believe the ancients to be real, but I believe they have gotten stronger, not weaker, over time as some have suggested. I understand the thinking behind the so-called 'cascading mana deprivation' theory, but I consider it optimistic at best, and hopelessly naive at worst. I can almost believe that the great thinkers of the last age were simply never taught the concept of entropy. I suppose it isn't a comforting thought, that one's society and indeed world, are in a state of decay rather than growth, but the stubborn refusal to even consider this meta state of our existence is more than a little baffling to me.

Entropy? Strange. I didn’t expect a world of magic to have a person use a concept of science typically known to only those that live in a modern world. What does this mean?...
