Well they aren't ready for war so guarding the border is out. And they are liabilities so they need to be hidden for now. After this whole affair it's probably best they are still sent to war though this civil war will drain and destabilize the kingdom and it was already chaotic and weak as hell. A sizable portion of nobles will need to be replaced, the kingdom rebuilt, etc. Than there's the fact that they will need to fight the empire not like they can hide even if they don't fight.

This whole situation is honestly somewhat hilarious because even if someone did win they would need to win two back to back wars one against the emptier and the other against a country with more advanced tech. All the tech needed to somewhat level the playing field and the powerful individuals would have already been defeated so the kingdom literally gets conquered if they don't have a way to measure up and they definitely don't. And even without that there's the intenral decay from the kingdom which would not be possible due to basiclsly the intenral collapse causd bt leon's comlany being gone that is literally the only reason the kingdom is standing now. I'm nor sure what moriarty has planned but I don't think he can do much here to escelate the situation beyond a civil war. The only thing I can think of would be to use those bones to pull another bs stunt. Well anyways seem moriarty wants to install the prince for whatever reason the prince has the right to the throne so there's not much of an issue with that besides his sheer incompetency. If the old friend is marie that means they somehow located her which shouldnt be possible especially since only a select few had access to her location. Either he somehow has a tracker in her, used some advanced tech, or theres another traitor. Regardless if moriarty wants marie back he will need to fetch her himself or send some of his most vital pieces I hope leon has her extea guarded during this ordeal.
