that not how a 5 yr old would talk to a father. n more importantly that not how any father would talk to his son or thinks it's ok for a son to response in such a way. now I have a question... will you drop with the "smirked" "grinned" in every conversation? it's over used. use other word to describe a facial expression or not at all. it can still flow smoothly depending on how you construct the conversation.

writing quality; suberb story wise; you wana know the story? take naruto team out of the picture and replace with one oc. thats it. everything is exactly the same with little touch here and there.

it's the manner in which hiruzen question is phrased. it should go along the line like, what will the child become after the experiment instead of what he was before.

bruh. orochi was experimenting on any subject or body he could get his hands on. doesn't have to be special. infact most if not all his subject are nothing special rather the thing or the "product" that was artificially put on the body is what he was working on. waiting for the result, if the subject could be considered success or a failure is the question. so once again it's not the uniqueness of the child that has subjected him to the experiment, it's the process of the experiment that has subjected to the child

why would anyone in the right mind would want to alter the future if it can be preserved at all in the first place. let's say you save obito and rin from their fate. madara is not gona stop his plan. now he finds someone else, someone you don't know about and his power. that puts you in the dark. this is just one simple example. just cz it's fanfic ppl start writing novel that makes no sense. I knw its wish fulfillment but plz plz atleast make it make sense. my comments is a response from your synopsis. I'll wait for further chapters to formally rate your story
