This story is so good but I have always struggled with timeline reset/erasures, amnesia/memory loss storylines. It’s like you have this huge build up to have the payoff be where everything that happened before functionally doesn’t exist/matter to most/all the denizens of the universe.

The law of absolute protection is probably strong but may be comparatively weak vs the vampire. Maybe the law of the husband? Law of the system……The Law of Laws or the Law of Nux sounds kind of dope. Idk if allowing it to be an absolute with force it to be weaker than the law of absolute.

They needed a pretense to create a battlefield for war. If they just swooped in and solved the problem then there would’ve been no reason for the troop deployment.

I don’t disagree, but more than it being boring. I think the pacing is just a little off due to it being one chapter a day. Each chapter needs to be more meaningful and a lot of the last few have felt filler-ish.

Or he can just use his OP system and just move on. It’s good having the I don’t want to depend on the system idea when you have other viable options but when you don’t it’s just stupid.

I hoping since time is a circle he would be able to just fly back since there didn’t seem to be anything actively preventing him from doing that. Now he may not be able to go back in the same point in time but anywhere close/before the team completes the nightmare would be fine.

Him being needed or not is both irrelevant and not necessarily proven. The only reason we have come to this assumption is we are believing what Cassie told him that he isn’t needed…..even that aside even if he isn’t needed his presence would undoubtedly make life easier and change the mathematics regarding the cost of victory. Maybe he isn’t needed to win but someone gets maimed that wouldn’t otherwise. Not to mention anything other than showing up is still abandonment and reneging on all the promises leading up to this point

Yeah I call bs…..So you are meaning to tell me that Sunny goes to the estuary gets his wish and there is no repercussions at all? What if the the most direct way he is free is the spell just killing off Nephis or significantly weakening her? Also Cassie saw all of this but doesn’t know what the outcome of this conversation will be? How does Sunny or the reader know this isn’t her attempting more manipulation? If she knows Sunny won’t go, does the well of wishes even have to exist? Does she just have to say it does? ……. Sigh this is why you don’t manipulate people once you do and get caught or f-up even the base things you do follow with question marks.
