Right because he uses the Void sandwiched between space points. Effectively he's making a wormhole or folding space(by old SchFi standards).

Not to mention he's only #137 so there are definitely others with a crapton more experience in everything than him. He started with the steepest learning curve among them as he's the latest, not counting any new world with possible champions of course.

Absolutely! This directly points at how much of a headstart the others have! I think it was better for him to have his first Champion run-in with the guy who dgaf about his world. There might be a chance of having a turnaround, especially since homie didn't kill anyone other than Sensori(spelling?) by his own "admission".
