The excuse Toriyama gives for this issue is that they restrain themselves from destroying the planet while fighting. But tell me, Akira, how is it possible for a berserk Broly to hold back while fighting?! Obito was hyperventilating in his kamui dimension at how stupidly close he had just gotten to death despite the rinnegan in his left eye socket. he had expected resistance from the hidden villages but he had no clue that someone so dangerous was hidden away. he had barely had time to enter his dimension before what ever that jutsu was erased everything with five miles of where he was standing. even more ludacris was that the man who used to attack prepared another attack after noticing that he had escaped at the last second. - Vcuihfj09111yrCommented

(A/N: Azulan's character is kind of hard to gauge so I imagine him being kind of like a mix of Iroh and Bumi. A loving grandpa, yet intimidating and semi-crazy. Afterall all, Iroh became listless when he lost his son. Due to this, Ozai asked to be Firelord, instead of his older brother Iroh, to the aged Azulan. And this crazy old man told Ozai to feel Iroh's pain and KILL ZUKO. Of course, he didn't due to momma bear's interference and soon after, her disappearance. Yet Azulan died soon after and Ozai still magically became Firelord.)
