So we're getting introduced to an uncle that the MC has never met just to either watch him die immediately without ever meeting the MC, get captured and have to be saved by either MC's father potentially leading to his injury, crippling or possibly even death, or unknowingly by the MC himself later in story after family believed the uncle to be dead for years. Third possibly the capture uncle to use as some sort of bargaining chip. Fourth possibility is Uncle escapes or is rescued in time in which case this could've been covered in a backflash as he tells the story to the others, even if he's injured.

Honestly just hearing this makes me lose interest in the book quite a bit. If we're already spending 10 chapters away from the MC now then it seems like it'll be a relatively recurring thing and books like that always lose my interest. Especially when they try to end a chapter not about the MC with a cliffhanger. I tend to take more breaks on the books at those times and rarely pick them back up but we'll see how this goes for now...

I agree with the Omega being the social glue of the pack but the lone wolf is called a Sigma wolf. Equal to an alpha in strength but is more the laid back and socially awkward type that focuses on getting the job done no matter what without needing the attention or credit the alpha demands.
In reality, the werewolves are divided into three tiers. Alpha, beta, and omega. Alpha is the leader of the group like Duke Hail who gets stronger with each member he adds to the group. The betas are werewolves who have an alpha. They are under his protection and since they stay together it would be difficult to pick them off. Finally, the Omega are werewolves without an alpha.
