Tallahassee_Slim12dCommentedThe addition of the snake-cat had me scratching my head a little at first, but I like it, because it’s kind of like cheating in the game of life! In most novels like this, everything just happens to go the FL’s way, and we’re given some spur of the moment explanation (she all of a sudden knows 3 different methods of self defense, is an expert hacker, AND is fluent in seven languages!). But here, we know it’s Leona’s snarky little snake-cat ancestor that is sitting on her shoulder and helping her like the world’s s**ttiest version of Jiminy Cricket. And I’m ok with that.

Yeah, because I’m sure Hadeon has some kind of GPS mind link with the necklace. All he can see is this little red blip going around and around on the same circuitous path, start and stop, start and stop. What is the monkey doing, running laps around the county, and apparently severely out of shape?? I mean, if she wants to exercise, she can easily do that at the castle.

Aside from Jimmy's presence, the night passes uneventfully. I take shots of water when guys insist on buying me alcohol and put the money in the tip jar. Sarah, Chris, and I develop an easy rhythm, swiftly tackling all the orders and keeping everyone as happy as we can.
