Original idea for a plot and with a good quality writing. The story does not stagnate for more than it should be in any event, the main characters are all well thought (with some comedic points) and many details some times are interconnected through multiple chapters which shows that even the backstory is taken into carefully/detailed account. If something may be a little lacking in contrast to all the other criteria, it will be interspecies relationships which tones down seeing more of the side characters or other locations.
