Well, I think that the amount of astral energy inside that corpse was already decrease to the brink of dispersing that only few amounts are left which is the reason that the corpse is preserve. Maybe the astral energy in the corpse had already gotten weaker with the passage of time making it possible for Su Ping to absorbed it? But you also got a point, even if the Astral Energy had gotten weaker, it should still be too much for Su Ping to handle..
