unless your referring to Spain and Portugal then ya you did crusades were about politics, local populations in outremer weren't forcibly converted en masse- rulers often tolerated muslims and Jews.

I always thought it was weird how most fan-fics painted him. He was beyond loyal to the village, in fact if he didn't suppress the clan then a civil war should have happened long before itachi was born. The problem was his loyalty, if he had more drive the 3rd hokage and donzo would be dead when the 9tails was free.
