Thanks that's is a fine explanation, the only problem is that none of that was conveyed to the audience. Now that I know what the situation is I understand what's happening. If the description of the ability doesn't match the ability's actual effect it would be a simple task of either acknowledging that in the story or changing the description to actually be accurate. For example: when the sword first cracked You could've had mc say "this monster most be from a higher rank" allowing the audience to fill in the gap themselves or simply have the original description of the blade say "unbreakable to all lower and equal ranked abilities" and the resulting confusion would have never happened. The same is true of the adaptation. The issue arises from critical information not being given to the audience. Thanks for the reply

Wasn't his sword supposed to be indestructible as long as he remains alive? Also how could he have something he "couldn't adapt to" when the whole point of his abilities is that he can adapt to anything as long as he doesn't die? There's no clause like "you can only adapt this much then it just stops working" the name it literally "perfect adaptation" yet it has some apparently arbitrary limit. This just doesn't make sense like reading contradictory statements back to back.

Mc presumably has the talent but not the understanding which can be taught/improved by a teacher. Not all rct is equal, Hakari is stated to have faster regeneration than Gojo but neither can heal others like Shoko can. Gojo mastered rct with the 6 eyes and Hakari uses his jackpot which makes them outliers. The way Shoko and the rest of the cast improved their abilities is by training with them after they unlocked it first. Unlocking it usually happens by chance but we're directly shown that you can increase your chances by intentionally trying to use it. The lawyer guy got lucky and did it his first try but Gojo had to wait until he was a teen to get it since he never put in the effort before.

I'm talking about refining the ability once it's unlocked which is noted to take practice to get good at (excluding Gojo due to 6 eyes). Since mc has years to try as much as he wants and there isn't anything preventing him from getting rct he'll probably get it eventually.

Mc forgot to ask about learning rct. Hopefully that won't come back to bite him soon.

I strongly agree with author's mentality in regards to repeating canon events verbatim in a fic (especially when said fic is based on major plot changes which preceded the event in question).

Who is this other opponent that suddenly appeared from underground, and only to immediately be killed? Only Toji should be able to avoid the detection of the six eyes.
