No, he was captured by the thalmor in the most recent war. But like he was never “brainwashed” when they captured him he was the 3rd in line son of a Jarl (both his brothers died later on in the war) and was pretty unknown since he spent his childhood with the greybeards. He was seen as a average grunt who MIGHT be worth some coin to be ransomed back to his dad, brainwashing him wouldn’t accomplish anything However a lot of people say he’s a thalmor puppet because he’s fighting the empire. The more he fights, the weaker both the stormclaks and the imperials get. With weaker imperials and stormcloaks the thalmor have a easier war. BUT he is justified in this rebellion morally. The empire betrayed the nords, they denounced their religion and they surrendered a culture that wasn’t theirs to pawn away. When a foreign ruler stops looking out for its citizens, the citizens shouldn’t follow them. It’s a civil war that morally doesn’t have a “right choice” the empire realistically have a better chance of beating the thalmor. And the stormcloaks do a better job of protecting their people on a more personal level

The last moon was really busy for Ragnar. He needed learn about the island's internal issues and how it functioned normally.
